CENTRUL MONDIAL AL PARCURILOR DE DISTRACTII ESTE IN ORLANDO
Ne-am obișnuit să mergem în parcuri unde putem hrăni lebele, rațe sălbatice sau alte păsări diafane. Dar amatorii de senzații tari au la dispoziție un parc totalmente atipic, în Orlando, SUA, unde pot hrăni crocodili. Evident, se merge doar cu un ghid care știe exact ce trebuie să facă pentru a proteja vizitatorii de reptilele care aici sunt răsfățate de turiști.
Orlando este o regiune cu turism de nișă, un fel de centru mondial al parcurilor de distracție. Dintre toate acestea, GatorLand Park Florida este un parc tematic întins pe o suprafață de 45 de hectare (110 acri), o rezervație a vieții sălbatice din regiune, situată de-a lungul South Orange Blossom Trail. Este mult mai mult decât un simplu parc cu aligatori situat între Orlando și Kissimmee, la doar 15 minute distanță de Aeroportul Internațional Orlando.
Gatorland este considerat una dintre atracțiile „clasice” din zona centrală a statului Florida, fiind și unul dintre cele mai mari parcuri tematice din lume. Suprafața foarte întinsă din această zonă sălbatică le oferă vizitatorilor experiențe unice într-o vacanță în care pot afla ce înseamnă o mlaștină de reproducție sau cum cuibăresc păsările, o plimbare în natură transformându-se într-o adevărată aventură.
În mlaștina White Gator am găsit aligatori albi uriași, extrem de rari, apoi am dat în mintea copiilor, luând trenul GatorLand Express și ne-am oprit la Gator Gully Splash Park, unde ne-am jucat cu ceilalți copii de toate vârstele, bucurându-ne de mediul umed și răcoros. Apoi, la Screamin’ Gator Zip Line, am experimentat senzații tari cu tiroliana celebră în rândul iubitorilor acestui parc de distracții natural. Lanțul de șapte tiroliene este uriaș, traversând un lac plin de crocodili. Dar și mai tari au fost senzațiile pe care le-am avut la Stompin’ Gator Off-road Adventure și în iazul imens cu aligatori.
Parcul a fost fondat de Owen Godwin, în anul 1949, pe un fost teren pentru vite, rămânând proprietatea privată a familiei acestuia până astăzi. Fondatorul a avut geniala idee de a schimba destinația unui teren care oricum era prea periculos pentru oameni și vaci, cu zone mlăștinoase naturale, astfel încât să transforme o zonă slab productivă într-un parc natural destinat aventurii în natură, pentru a atrage turiști din întreaga lume. Ideea a fost un real succes, care astăzi e faimos în întreaga lume.
Una dintre cele mai mari atracții pentru vizitatori este să hrănească aligatorii de la o distanță de jumătate de metru. Reptilelor li se aruncă bucăți de carne, iar supraveghetorii parcului îi îndrumă pe aventurieri să încerce să nimerească direct gura aligatorului. Bonusul e posibilitatea de a ține în brațe un pui de reptilă, inofensiv – o experiență unică! Intrarea în zonele specicale unde se pot hrăni aligatorii se face doar cu un ghid al parcului.
THE WORLD CENTER OF AMUSEMENT PARKS IS IN ORLANDO
We are used to go to parks where we can feed swans, wild ducks or other diaphanous birds. But thrill seekers have at their disposal a completely atypical park in Orlando, USA, where they can feed crocodiles. Obviously, you only go with a guide who knows exactly what to do to protect visitors from the reptiles that are spoiled by tourists here.
Orlando is a niche tourism region, sort of the theme park world center. Of these, GatorLand Park Florida is a theme park spread over 45 hectares (110 acres), a regional wildlife preserve located along the South Orange Blossom Trail. It’s much more than just an alligator park located between Orlando and Kissimmee, just 15 minutes away from Orlando International Airport.
Gatorland is considered one of the “classic” attractions in central Florida, and is one of the largest theme parks in the world. The vast area of this wild area offers visitors unique experiences on a vacation where they can learn what a breeding marsh is or how birds nest, a nature walk turning into a real adventure.
In the White Gator Swamp we found extremely rare giant white alligators, then we got into the kids mind by taking the GatorLand Express train and stopped at the Gator Gully Splash Park where we played with the other kids of all ages enjoying us from the humid and cool environment. Then, at the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line, we experienced thrills on the famous zip line among lovers of this natural amusement park. The chain of seven zip lines is huge, crossing a lake full of crocodiles. But even stronger were the sensations I had at the Stompin’ Gator Off-road Adventure and in the huge alligator pond.
The park was founded by Owen Godwin, in 1949, on a former cattle land, remaining the private property of his family until today. The founder had the brilliant idea of repurposing land that was already too dangerous for humans and cows with natural swamps to transform a poorly productive area into a nature adventure park which attracts tourists from all over the world. The idea was a real success, which today is famous all over the world.
One of the biggest attractions for visitors is to feed the alligators from a distance of half a meter. Bits of meat are thrown to the reptiles, and park rangers direct the adventurers to try to hit the gator’s mouth directly. The bonus is the possibility to hold a baby reptile, harmless – a unique experience! The entry in the special alligator feeding areas is only possible with a park guide.
